ITT to divest Canteen in $88 million deal
ITT announced divesting itself of Canteen Corp in an $88 million transaction to satisfy a 1971 antitrust consent decree with the Justice Department. The plan would merge Canteen with a new TWA owned subsidiary, pending board and stockholder approvals and DOJ consent. The Hartford tax ruling reconsideration could affect former Hartford shareholders if reversed.
