Author Segal Finishes Boston Marathon Amid Pain
Eric Segal completed his 17th Boston Marathon but felt pain throughout the run. A four pound battery strapped to his back powered a microphone for a TV show advised by Howard Cosell. Segal finished 626th among 1,398 starters, saying his goal was to finish without pain, achieving only half.
