A sunken 600 passenger Catalina excursion ship Carib Star was hoisted by a large crane barge in San Pedro and moved toward a boat yard on Terminal Island. Slings supported the $2.5 million vessel as it was pushed across the main channel of Los Angeles Harbor. Six thousand McDonnell Douglas workers recalled after weekslong strike
About 6,000 nonstriking workers at McDonnell Douglas Long Beach will be recalled within two weeks, with 4,000 slated for April 24 and 2,000 called back daily. Bulldozer Bandit Baffles Bank in Covington
A robber used a Sten bulldozer to ram Covington Trust & Banking Co. on Tuesday.
