Army Cancels Derby Day Junket Mixup Spurred by Brucker
Washington reports show Secretary Brucker faced criticism over an Army demo trip to Ft. Knox planned for May 3 4 to coincide with Derby Day. He said the event was a serious military display, not a Derby junket, and altered dates to avoid extra costs. Congress members would receive air travel meals and lodging, with Derby seats not guaranteed.
