Ugly duckling becomes model and senator's wife
The vignette follows Virginia Joan Bennett from a shy sleeping child to a successful model who appears in television commercials. It details her early musical talent, schooling at Manchananville College, and her courtship with Ted Kennedy culminating in a 1958 church wedding in Brensville. The piece notes their life in Charlottesville and Boston, the Senate bid, and a warm, public marriage afterward. The Kennedy family and friends are highlighted throughout.
