Intermittent TB therapy gains traction in study findings
Medical authorities report that taking anti tuberculosis drugs twice weekly is as effective as daily dosing for TB treatment. Dr Donald C Kent of the National Tuberculosis and Respiratory Association cited East and North Africa studies, noting ongoing trials to shorten therapy from 18 to 24 months. He highlighted reduced hospitalizations and a shift toward community based care, with Alabama closing several sanitoria. The article also lists a lengthy Long Beach emergency call log from the past 24 hours.

Israel uses Sinai as pawn in peace effort says consul general
Yakov Aviad, Israeli consul general for eight western states, told Long Beach service clubs that Israel is using the captured Sinai as a bargaining chip to secure a favorable Middle East peace. He said most Israelis do not want to keep Sinai but warned it would be foolish to return it before talks with the Arabs. Aviad, once secretary to Chaim Weizmann, noted Israel would barter and pull animosity from the Arabs, while insisting on keeping the Golan Heights and Jerusalem. He praised Israel's 25th anniversary progress, including doubling labor force and rapid GDP growth, within a democratic framework. He urged patience as Arabs rely on Russia for now.
