Long Beach seeks update to city seal amid aging emblem
Residents and historians in Long Beach call for revising the 1930 city seal which depicts Rainbow Pier, a ship, a sail, an oil shell and other symbols now seen as outdated. Critics argued the design mirrors state imagery and commercial icons, while supporters note the seal reflects the city’s identity and history.
