GM buys back V6 tooling for 1975 Buick Special
General Motors repurposes the 225 cubic inch V6 tooling it sold six years earlier from AMC storage to equip a redesigned engine for the Buick Special. The program includes Toledo produced parts, EPA tests, and a new intake, larger displacement, catalytic converter, carburetor, and high energy ignition for 1975 emission standards. GM did not disclose the purchase price and plans to offer the V6 in some 1975 Buicks.
