Sicilian sailor survives 30 hours in Atlantic after shipmates taunt him
Giovanni Sigona, 35, leaped from the American tanker Northern Gulf 30 hours earlier about 100 miles west of Capetown. Rescued by the British Premier, he endured freezing waters, sunburn, and thirst, saying teasing by crew caused him to jump. He is recovering in Capetown Hospital and awaiting transport back to Sicily.
