Odd-Even gasoline plan kept in Los Angeles County
Los Angeles County supervisors on Tuesday voted to maintain the odd-even gasoline marketing plan due to fuel shortages. Supervisor James Hayes defended the program, noting Orange County pulled out amid car lines, and he projected shortages through April and May. The county’s Gasoline Control Center issued 7,000 C stickers at five dollars each, enabling car owners to buy gas any day. Hayes said applications are tapering, questioned future costs, and noted refunds if costs are lower than expected. He added the stickers helped motorists and are tax deductible.
