Initiative to Reapportion State Senate Faces County Action
In Los Angeles County today the Board of Supervisors began steps to qualify an initiative petition to place reapportionment of the State Senate on the November ballot. Supervisor Bonelli moved to seek county counsel requirements to qualify and the motion passed unanimously. Bonelli praised the Assembly for approving a reapportionment measure but said the Senate offers no constructive prospects. Supervisors blasted a Senate plan to spend 100000 for a three year study as a dilatory tactic and not worthy of consideration.
