Man in Sea Base to Be San Diego

California Delays 21 Criminal Cases Over Escobedo Review

In San Francisco the California Supreme Court defers 21 pending criminal cases pending Escobedo review. Clerk William J. Sullivan says the court will defer action until the U.S. Supreme Court clarifies the Escobedo ruling. About eight cases are to be heard in Los Angeles by June 22, 1984, with roughly 13 more awaiting briefs after the high court decides.
