The Silver Tankard and the Puritan Family Tale
A rustic Wisconsin era tale recounts Daniel Gordon a Puritan farmer living in a secluded valley with his daughter Sally. Thieves visit, Sally’s kindness and hospitality save the silver tankard, and later the imprisoned Smith repents after Gordon’s plea. The silver heirloom soon passes to a Madison, Wisconsin owner.
