IPS Morning With The Child And The Western Settlement

A long sentimental piece opens with a prayerful scene of a pure young woman and a child, then shifts to a mother and dying son, sharing consoling talks about heaven and morning light for the child. It moves to a sermon on emigration’s impact, praising the West’s opportunities and addressing eastern fears, then blends humorous asides on opium, circuses, and various notes from the era.
