Prescott Fourth of July Scenes and Local Debate

A Prescott Fourth of July account details public events in the Grove, with a religious service, Declaration reading, and an oration stressing virtue and education. It notes a tepid public enthusiasm, a civic dinner, and toasts, alongside critiques of taxation and local merchants. Weather, band music, and street work are also touched on, with remarks on farming and timber lands in Pierce county.
