Hoo Hoo Initiation Draws Prescott Crowd

The Prescott gathering for the Hoo Hoo order included 25 out of town guests and six new initiates. The evening featured a parade, a turkey supper, toasts, and speeches at Park Hotel and Woodman Hall, with about 13 members now in the local group.

Lawrence Butler and Will Cash, jailed on a Thursday night assault charge against John G. Benton, confessed to plotting the robbery at Benton's store. Clansman Coming to Opera House Dec 5

Sidney Smith announces The Clansman will appear at the opera house on the evening of December 5. Prices are 1.50 1.00 and 75 cents, with seating limited to colored patrons. The 32 member cast features real horses and large scenery with a third act horse on stage.

Fourth Quarterly Conference Held in Okolona

The event drew prominent Methodists to Okolona yesterday. Forest fires near Boswell caused damage this week. Mr Stitt Arch and Sam McGill lost fences and Arch lost a hay barn with much hay. The Missouri River bridge at the Bluff linking Clark and Nevada counties is now complete and open.

Hardwood mill destroyed by fire near railroad line

Last night around 10 o clock the old hardwood saw mill owned by M W Greeson near the railroad track a mile north of town burned completely. No insurance, estimated loss about 12000. The plant had not operated for years but a startup was planned for early next year. Cause blamed on burning grass ignited by a passing train. A claim may be placed with the railroad company. Mrs Isaac Moore returned to Hope after a visit near Prescott.
