Contested Pike county land sale linked to diamonds
Camden Nov 8 contest in the local United States land office over a 200 acre Pike county tract claimed to bear diamonds ended with a negotiated sale. Miller and associates alleged kimberlite and possible diamond deposits, with hearings featuring geologists from Syracuse University, the Field Columbian Museum, and Smithsonian. The case was dismissed after agreement for $4,000.
