Governor Donaghey announced a compromise between the railroads and the state ending assaults over rate legislation. Railroads agree to a one third increase in freight rates and to implement a two and a half cent passenger rate immediately. All roads with suits in court are included.
Rev J I Hoaw resigns as pastor of the Baptist church in Nashville effective today to take a position as general state missionary for the state Mission Board of the Baptist church. The change follows his long service as local pastor.
Ashitown April 80. White Cliffs cement works near here offered at public sale by C R B Moore court appointee for creditors. Bidder Charles Campbell of Kansas City Mo offered 28 000, accepted by Major Moore. Property long viewed as valuable with unlimited cement supply, but sales previously failed to gain court approval.
