Nightriding murder near Boughton ends in arrests
A local man, John Thornton, aged 20, was found dead after a reported mobbing near Boughton. A neighbor, Prescott, discovered the body and led to confessions from Holder, Hoover, and Burks. Holder claims the two men hired him to kill Thornton over secrets about a missing father.

Officers are L C Honeycutt president Hugh D Clark secretary A J Barrett treasurer and J M Lee time keeper The programme lists literary and musical contests in Senior and Junior divisions with reading declamation spelling map drawing and contests The afternoon features athletic events with T S Staples referee Morley Jennings starter and races from 50 yards to full mile plus field events cups and medals provided by Hope High School Athletic Association.

The 11 o'clock service featured a sermon on Christ’s last week before the cross. three additions and two baptisms occurred. The evening sermon contrasted Jesus and Barabbas. Music by Fred Powell and Mrs. Gordon. Next Sunday morning will include Eastern services and Knight Templars attendance.
