J J Cox Attacked at Helbig by Peddlers

J. J. Cox, manager of the Pike County Logging Co., was assaulted by two peddlers at Helbig on the P N W railroad. During the incident one peddler was killed by a stray shooter, the other wounded. Cox also beaten but expected to recover. The clash stemmed from peddlers opposing Coxs commissary business and price complaints.

Little Rock Masters Mobile In Shutout Win

James Buchanan of the Little Rock Travelers pitched a near perfect game, shutting out Mobile 6 to 0. Mobile managed only a hit through seven and a half innings before Sentell and Watson provided late offense as Little Rock dominated the game.
