On Oregon Short Line train No. 27 near Ogden, bandits robbed passengers of about $4,000 in money and jewelry after beating a woman who refused to surrender her valuables. Passes expect pursuit by Sheriff Wilson and local men. the express car yielded no cash.
In Lynn Massachusetts on June 28 a slain bandit remains unidentified despite crowds at the morgue. Andy Alison, wounded, lies in hospital. Bandit Wasill Iwankowski, captured after a minor wound, shows little remorse. He asked about victims families and then fell silent. Landregan left a wife and several children.
Oyster Bay June 28. Col. Roosevelt has arranged a conference with President Taft at Beverly to discuss pressing national issues and coordinate policy steps.
The report says Guy Hughes and possibly Congressman Longworth and Senator Lodge will accompany the former president after Harvard commencement. They will travel from Cambridge to Swampscott then Beverly in a touring car. Roosevelt will depart Saga more Hill for Cambridge.

Rube Waddell signs pledge in Dayton, agreeing to report dates weekly to avoid a fine.
Chicago jurors in the Lee O'Neil Browne bribery trial argued intensely hours after being sent out Friday at 3:00 pm. Bailiffs were called during scuffles as the 11 to 1 vote for conviction was contested. The judge warned of possible dismissal if no verdict emerges by Thursday night.
