The Greek legation reports that Greek forces surrounded a Turkish army corps at Philadelphia Ala Shehr near Smyrna and captured 8 000 prisoners with guns and booty. The army continues its northward push as Salhili and Lake Murreoin are reported captured by the Thirteenth Division with cavalry moving toward Youla.
Basil E. Newton authorized to organize a Fifth Arkansas Infantry company at Hope after World War I service. C. H. Poulson authorized to organize a Fifth Regiment supply company of the Arkansas National Guard at Fort Smith. State Rifle Association secretary offers tax plans and small bore rifle range specifications via the State Capitol for public use.

Five masked bandits entered the Northern State Bank in St Paul Minnesota and fatally wounded cashier Victor Redman as they seized about five thousand dollars in cash five thousand in Liberty bonds and nonnegotiable paper. Redman was shot while stepping from the vault as E E Connor the bank president and an assistant cashier and a clerk watched. The robbers fled in a waiting car after the shooting.
The Department of Education plans a campaign of instruction for county superintendents to be delivered at their residences after they take office. The notice mentions a course at the State Normal and a breakfast session, with expenses paid. George Westmoreland, Cal., attended to business today.
Fayetteville Ark June 25 The flag draped casket of James A Allen the first Washington county soldier to be returned from France arrived from Hoboken escorted by military guards He will be buried in Farmington cemetery after services at 10 a m Saturday He entered service July 23 1918 sailed Sept 2 1918 and died Oct 18 1918 of bronchial pneumonia He belonged to the Fifty eighth Medical Unit S A R D and was the son of L T Allen.
