The Red Cross fund total stood at 3757 00 by noon Tuesday with many local donors listed from Prescott and nearby areas. Names include Mrs G R Haynie J C Woodul H H Kennedy and W L White among dozens more, with a note that some names may be omitted due to compiling errors.

No Great Demand for Laborers in Arkansas

In a letter to Michigan labor commissioner the Arkansas state commissioner says there is no great demand for laborers in Arkansas at present. Wages for common labor run from 1.50 to 1.75 dollars a day after hospital fees and other deductions. The work is not constant, so Michigan citizens would not profit by coming to Arkansas to work in the lumber camps.

George Kessler to lay out cantonment site

George Kessler of St Louis will be in charge of laying out the cantonment site in Little Rock on June 26. He planned the Kansas City boulevard system and laid out the World's Fair at St Louis. He is recognized as a leading municipal architect in the nation.

President assumes control of exports

Washington, June 25 President Wilson acts to control American exports by creating an exports council of the secretaries of state, agriculture, and commerce and the food administrator. Aimed at directing trade systematically, the plan licenses coal and fuel shipments first, then all exports to European neutrals, with cereals and foodstuffs named at the outset. Proclamations will extend to most export commodities.
