Rogers, chairman of the Executive Council of the Arkansas Bankers Association, has referred to Peter Powell the request by Secretary of State Hodges for appointing two expert accountants to audit his office. JUDGE MARTINEAU DENIES INJUNCTION IN SCHOOL FUND CASE
Little Rock June 26 Chancellor Martineau denied an injunction sought by Attorney Allyn Smith of Cotter against disbursement of the common school fund. The ruling was not accompanied by a discussion of the law and the decision was appealed to the Supreme Court. Smith says his aim is to clarify payment of the fund annually without a specific appropriation. It was previously held that such appropriation is required.

Governors Pardons For Thompson and Connie Marked By Support
In Little Rock on June 25 Gov Hays granted pardons to Henry Thompson of Hot Springs County who forgery fined two years in the penitentiary and Timothy Connie fined ten dollars in Little Rock Municipal Court for assault and battery. The pardons followed recommendations from jurors the trial judge and prosecuting attorney and two school district directors. A New York to South America ship carried twenty five thousand dollars of printed matter three thousand of agricultural implements ten thousand of miscellaneous machinery and other cargo for Montevideo Buenos Aires and the eastern coast of South America.
