Plan to Move Arkansas State Fair to Little Rock
The next legislature would decide on making Little Rock the seat of the Arkansas State Fair and Exposition after 1914. A forty acre tract near Little Rock would host permanent buildings and a half mile track. Ten acres would be deeded to the state for exhibit halls with a $40,000 buildout request. The plan seeks state control to avoid creditor risk and remove past objections. Hot Springs may oppose if Oakland race track sale reduces local expositions. An experimental station would rise on part of the ten acres and a stadium to host pageants and year round festivities.

Two car loads of potatoes were shipped from Prescott this afternoon to St. Louis by the Prescott Truck Growers Association. The association is made up of local truck farmers who have planted a large acreage this year. Spuds are selling for a better price, Fort Smith yesterday reported 23 cents per bushel at 1.50, and the growers here expect a net price of about 1.00 per bushel.
