Bank of Prescott Heads Red Cross Fund Subscriptions

The Bank of Prescott leads contributors to a Red Cross fund drive with 150.00 and today the total receipts reach 1525.55 after yesterday’s omission. A mass meeting at the county courthouse is planned with Red Cross field director W A King. Numerous residents and businesses listed include McRae and Tompkins Gee, Hesterly Drug Store, Mrs. Horace Bemis, Dr J E Cox, and many others.

French Recapture Part of Lost Ground on Aisne Front

Paris reports the French this morning recaptured part of positions gained by the Germans in yesterday’s Aisne front attack east of Vauxaillon. The war office notes extreme violence with German forces drawn from the Russian front and heavy German losses. In Champagne, French gains were made northeast of Mont Carnillet.
