Parole Granted to George Waddle of Hope Ark

Washington June 21 Attorney General Gregory paroled George Waddle of Hope Arkansas after five months of a one year and a day sentence at Leavenworth for receiving stolen goods sold in transit under the new interstate commerce act. Parole was granted on the Parole Board's recommendation.

Southern Hay for Southern Markets

Washington, June 22. The United States Department of Agriculture reports the South imports about 5,000 tons of hay valued at 17.626 million dollars yearly, while producing four-fifths of its consumption. A new bulletin argues market hay could be profitable with suitable soil, equipment, and market access, highlighting Bermuda and Johnson grasses, avline, tall oat, and Sudan grass, plus the Arlington orchard-tall cat mix. It notes equipment costs and community baling options, and calls for decisions on bottomland suitability and local demand.

Bank State ments over wire across the state

Little Rock June 22 When calls are viewed hereafter by the State Bank Commission for reports of the ownership edition of State Banks the call will be sent by wire to every bank in the state on the morning the call is made Each bank will have a full supply of blanks so the report may be forwarded the same day without delay Arrangements have been made with the Western Union for transmission of the call and in towns without telegraph offices the long distance telephone will be used.

Mrs Hays Heads Inspect Convict Farm Visit

Mrs. George W. Hays wife of the governor and a party of ladies left Little Rock for Cummins Lincoln county to inspect the state convict farm. They will be guests there five days and will be joined by the governor and his son Grady on Saturday.

Prescott and Vicinity Receives Rain

A heavy windstorm visited this section this afternoon at 2930 with considerable rain and hail. This is the first rain in four weeks and crops, especially corn, were suffering. The heat had wilted corn prospects. Sunday reached 98 and yesterday 101. Rain today will be worth thousands to the community. Truck growers in the area began to suffer for pain.

Plans mature for agricultural schools in Prescott region

Extension Agent L A Markham announces upcoming two summer farm schools in the Prescott North Western territory around late July or early August. Schools likely in Prescott and Blevins with two days at Prescott and possibly two days in Blevins. University specialists from the Agricultural College and Department of Agriculture will cover topics such as fruit growing, fertilizers, terracing, pest control, pasture and flower crop planting. The program details and speakers will be released soon.
