Chicago lockout of 20000 tradesmen grips city

In Chicago, 20000 construction tradesmen face a lockout after the Building Construction Employers association voted to idle workers. Employers threaten to keep men idle until marble workers on the Continental and Commercial bank building return to work. Electricians lathers plumbers bricklayers steamfitters ornamental iron workers and marble workers are involved. Attempts to settle differences between marble workers and employers failed last week. The Building Trades council considered a general strike when the employers acted.
