Prescott Chautauqua Opens With Redpath-Horner Circuit

Prescott hosts the Redpath-Horner season at the city park with Nothing But the Truth as the feature play. Octave Thanet Suffers From Failing Vision

Special to The News. Little Rock June 1. Information reaches Little Rock that Miss Alice French known as Octave Thanet is suffering failing vision. She lives at her Dubuque Iowa home and has almost given up writing. Her sight is greatly impaired. Miss French visited Little Rock often and for years kept a summer home at Clover Bed in Lawrence county where she supplied local color for many early popular novels.

Ozan Graysonia Lumber to Resume Full Operations

The Ozan Graysonia Lumber Company announces the local saw mill will resume full-time operations next Tuesday at 6:30 AM with a full crew. About 200 workers, including 150 at the plant and 50 in logging, will return to work as output reaches 100,000 feet daily and logs required reach 75,000 to 80,000 feet. The revival brings relief to many bread earners who have been idle for months.
