Receiver Asked for Knights of Honor Meeting

Little Rock June 11 Col George Thornburgh and J H Bilheimer Jr Supreme Representatives leave this week for Buffalo New York to attend the biennial session of the Supreme Lodge Knights of Honor one of the oldest fraternal orders in the country which meets next Tuesday. Several days ago appreciation was made in St Louis for the appointment of a receiver for the organization alleging that the liabilities far exceed the assets No further information has been received here and it is hoped that arrangements will be made to tide over the present embarrassment There are about fifty logos in Arkansas the largest ones being in Little Rock Forrest City Russellville and Pine Bluff Some of the most prominent men of Little Rock are members.

Peabody Norman offers two scholarships in Arkansas

Little Rock June 11 The George Peabody College for Teachers at Nashville Tenn offers two $100 scholarships to Arkansas one for a young man and one for a young woman for the Seman A Knapp School for Country Life. Applications must be made by July 15 to the State Superintendent and State Director of Farm Demonstration work. Eligibility requires distinction in Boys Corn Club or Girls Canning Clubs work or proven ability as a rural community organizer, county superintendent, farm demonstration agent, or rural school teacher or principal.
