Fair Price Committee Appointed by Council

Mayor Hamby announced the formation of a Fair Price Committee to judge sewerage connection bids. Aldermen Westmoreland Hamilton and Tra Gee will decide if prices are fair after residents submit bids with fixture details. Hale Jr. returned from Ames Agricultural School after a year away.

Meteor Falls Near Omulgee Oklahoma Sparks Crowds

A meteor shining over Omulgee Oklahoma for nearly a minute set aflame in a field one mile west of the city at 9 PM. Crowds rushed to the scene as roads remained clogged with cars and onlookers eager to witness the fiery display.

Population of Hope and Hempstead County Grows

Census figures released in Washington D C show Hope Hempstead county Ark population at 4790 in 1920 up from 3639 in 1910 a gain of 1151 during the decade. Hempstead county towns Fulton McNab Ozan and Washington list small increases with Fulton at 543 McNab 147 and Ozan 155.

Bankhead Highway Hope Reaches Arkansas Visitors

Messrs. R. C. McDaniel and A. L. Tennyson from Arkadelphia toured the city to study road conditions and promote Bankhead Highway alignment. They announced the War Department will dispatch a Motor Transport Corps convoy from Washington to Los Angeles along the proposed route, urging landowners to prepare their stretches and mobilize local labor for progress.

Dempsey Goes On Trial Over Draft Answers
