New York June 2 Western Union Telegraph Company says it will not submit to the national war labor board. The board proposed a compromise to allow union membership without recognizing the union and with no strikes. Killed by Train At Walnut Street Crossing
W. R. Wunsch a white man was killed and Louis Williams a Negro fatally injured when Missouri Pacific passenger train No. 7 struck the wagon they rode at the Walnut Street crossing in Hope around 3 PM. The wagon was demolished. the team escaped unharmed. Wunsch, a German citizen employed hauling timber for the Ivory Handle Company, resided in Hope and left a widow and several children. Williams was the wagon driver.

TRY FARMERS FOR MURDER NEAR RED WATER
Texarkana June 1 Mack Hammons and Joe Hokes farmers near Red Water 16 miles south of here face district court in Boston next Monday on murder charges linked to the death of neighbor William Stroud shot at a country church about four years ago.
