Missouri public service taxes rise by seven million
The Missouri state board of equalization raises taxes on public service corporations by an estimated six to seven million dollars for the year. Railroads long distance telephone and telegraph firms bear the largest share, with the Burlington system set for the biggest increase. Total railroad valuation near 130 million, statewide public service valuation about 182 million, lifting state top value to about 1.677 billion. Streetcar and bridge properties remain near last year’s valuations.

KILLS WOMAN ENDS LIFE IN ST LOUIS

San Diego June 7 A rebel captain Tony Vexas of the forces at Tijuana was executed by a rebel firing squad for killing a Mexican named Pachicno during a dispute. He refused blindfolding, lit a cigarette, and faced the squad as one volley fired. Witnesses included several Americans in the town.
