Little Rock reports Associate Justice W F Kirby rejects rumors of a gubernatorial bid. He states he has no intention to run, despite solicitations and rumors of resignation from the Supreme Court bench and a possible Moose appointment. He may still eye the United States Senate later.
Texarkana inventor Tam promotes an Air Shock Absorber for autos and buggies. Endorsed by railroad men and mechanics, it claims to remove shock and extend ride life. Crowson seeks investors, promising $1,000 return per dollar, with a working model in Prescott for a limited time. Roscoe Cress advertises Auto Service phone 136.
The School Improvement Association in Arkansas will end efforts on July 1 after the General Education Board withdrew support due to lack of legislative funding. Since 1908 Miss Eva Reichardt has organized rural and urban schools across the state, traveling with $75 a month plus expenses for nine months annually.
Mrs Ida Gullick of Redland township dies at home at 6 30 Sunday morning May 30 after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband P H Gullick one son and several step children. Funeral services and interment were at Bluff City Monday afternoon conducted by Rev J M Sarret.
A meeting of farmers and truck growers will be held in Belton Arkansas on Saturday morning January 31 at 10 o clock to discuss plans for the Prescott and Northwestern Railroad Agricultural Department project. L A Markham Extension Agent will address the gathering with important matters to present. Take a half day off and attend to help start the work.
In Little Rock on June 1 the Arkansas Railroad Commission plans a meeting with the legal department to map the next steps in the prolonged rate dispute. Assistant Attorney General Streepey, back from St Paul, has secured a continuance until December 11 for the injunction against Frisco Tariff No. 5. The Frisco and Kansas City Southern push for court ratification of their tariff, while two cent passenger fares fade away as Iron Mountain raises to three cents and bonds are posted for Joplin Belt and Rock Island. The long legal battle has cost Arkansas over 100000 dollars, with past Supreme Court actions returning funds to citizens but not fixing lower rates.

Prescott Gun Club held its weekly shoot yesterday with shooters tallying scores across events. Top marks included notable performances by club members amid stable conditions and routine target practice.
The Woman's Christian Temperance Union calls a full attendence for the Flower Mission meeting Thursday at 8 pm with a program featuring children. Members are urged to bring or mail flowers to honor fallen comrades and to remember the sick and happy alike. Miss Lucy White has returned from a visit to Texarkana sister. Dr Nelms of Laneburg visits Prescott. Sloan's Liniment advertises three ounces for two cents, promising relief from neuralgia pains.
June 1 at Little Rock nine attorneys were enrolled in the Supreme Court after passing a satisfactory examination. The new members are W. K. Ruddell of Batesville M. E. B. Sanderson of Texarkana Gordon Armitage of Harrison Thomas W. Clark of Mena Jos F. Wallace of McGehee F. E. Wilson of Augusta Frank W. Rawles of Little Rock W. T. Adams and James A. Miller.
The Gazette reports the Red River flood crest near Garland City at the gas main break is believed reached, with river at a stand. Arkansas Natural Gas Company officials say repair may start Thursday or Friday, though no firm prediction. Red River rose an inch Sunday night and expected to recede today. Garland City crew remains with materials and manpower.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Newth of Little Rock are in the city visiting relatives and friends. Mr. Newth works at the Little Rock post office and is on his annual vacation. They are former Prescott residents, Claude the son of Chas. F. Newth and Mrs. Newth the daughter of L. L. Majors.
