Geo Hornbeck of the military company living near Ward’s Chapel was held up and robbed of 9.50 after leaving a company meeting. Two men flanked him and forced payment, threatening violence, as he rode toward Mrs Shanks’s home. The event follows a recent burglary at Mrs Dillon’s home where money was taken.
