Arkansas Railroad Commission orders St. Louis Iron Mountain & Southern Railway to build not less than 1000 feet of additional side track at Prescott station within 90 days, connecting to the north end of a house track near Scott-Mayer Commission Co warehouse, running parallel to the main line. Order issued in Little Rock on February 20 1908 by W E Floyd.

Davis denies report on convicts in Arkansas story
Special to the Newa from Little Rock reports Senator Jeff Davis denying attributing a statement to him about Page and Judge Harts alleged handling of state convicts. Secretary Page says Newport report was aimed at injuring Judge Hanks as he runs for the Supreme Court. He notes Love Grant asked about Page and Hart’s guilt and Grant is a court stenographer for Judge Fulkerson. Judge Hart declined to comment.

Jonesboro Round House Burned in Cotton Belt Fire
In Jonesboro at 4 this morning the Cotton Belt round house and machine shop burned after starting in the oil house. Six freight and two passenger engines were damaged about 800 each. Total loss estimated at 20000. Two nearby residences also burned, losses 1000 and 3000. Superintendent to visit from Pine Bluff for rebuilding plans.
