A Griffin worker, about 22, was seriously injured when a freight engine struck him while crew cleared a line near Mountain Bridge. He was hurled about 12 feet, suffered skull injuries, and was brought to St Louis for treatment. His condition improved in Arkansas as reports come in.
The reply of Lewis Rhoton to Senator Jeff Davis on prosecuting Tom Cox and M D L Cook for alleged grafting stirs local debate in Washington City. Rhoton insists prosecution if guilt is believed, despite Davis’s request not to. B H Logan of Prescott visits. City Council water and light committee recommends day current and added equipment. Board of Trade meets with limited attendance discussing Iron Mountain passenger service. A committee to Arkansas Railroad Commission meeting at Prescott is named to present the issue.
