Man Slain by Lions at Texarkana Theater
Pearl Roberts, about 24, was killed in Texarkana when two performing African lions mauled him in a rear room of the West Broad street electric theatre. The trainer was ill, the lions unused this week, and Roberts taunted the sleeping beasts after entering their cages. He died at 7 this morning after severe arm injuries and heavy blood loss. Roberts had resided with his father’s family for several years.

Special to the No Little Rock February 14 Arrangements are about completed for appealing the case of the State Charitable Board membership to the Supreme Court. It was decided yesterday against the Pindall appointees who were named by the acting governor on December 18 of the past year after four members of the board as appointed by Governor Davis had been notified that they were no longer members. Judge E Winfield of the Pulaski Circuit Court held however that they are members and that the four men appointed by Governor Pindall have no office.
