Railroads in the state report car supply returning to normal after a recent shortage. Freight movement has slumped from December highs, with railroad officials predicting a spring revival to restore former traffic levels. Also noted are good wishes for Mr and Mrs Newth as they move to Little Rock for a new life together.
In Newth Majors last night Miss Ethel Majors and Claude Newth were united in marriage by Rev. W C Hilliard. The ceremony occurred before a small circle of friends and relatives. The bride and groom were described as amiable and worthy in this quiet home ceremony.
Prentiss E Citty and Miss Chlora Barrow wed last night at 8 in the Citty home with Rev H W Steen officiating. The couple from Ozan traveled by train and departed today on the Cannon Ball amid best wishes from Hempstead county friends.
Douglas Brooks and Pearl Moore publicly announced their marriage after a ceremony Monday at the Methodist Church officiated by Rev. W A Steele. The groom, son of the late J T Brooks, works in railroads and plans to move to Mexico for work.
Hon. Corburn C. Kavanaugh, challenger to Governor Donaghey, says he will start his formal campaign next week and invites Donaghey to join a joint canvass if possible. If Donaghey declines, Kavanaugh plans a state-wide itinerary toward the March primary.
Posse with bloodhounds chase James Trammell after he mortally wounds C. A. Gragg at the Elk Cafe in Paragould. Gragg dies. Trammell fled east into the bottoms. Governor offers 200 reward for arrest and conviction.
