A reader letter from Lee Bennett dated December 20 describes a five year old boy asking Santa Claus for a bugle candy apples oranges and nuts. The message includes a racial slur and references to ponies indicating a childlike Christmas wish list.
Little Rock reports Gov Donaghey returns from Fort Smith to face a flood of petitions for the pardon of W Y Ellis, jailed for manslaughter in July after a killing in Willis. Ministers and Mrs Ellis join citizens in urging clemency as Christmas list awaited.
The W. C. T. U. holds a Friday meeting with Mrs. H. Stainton in attendance. Guests and local members plan the discussion and activities for the upcoming month.
The track inspecting machine for the Iron Mountain travels through Little Rock and Texarkana. It records defective track places while moving at 45 miles an hour and marks them with whitewash for a repair gang to follow. The inspection is part of the annual Maintainance of Way program led by E. J. Correll.

Atttorney General Hall L Norwood oversees gifts for Reform School inmates funded by the state, while the Board of Charities bought thousands of pounds of turkey for the Arkansas School for the Blind, Arkansas Deaf Mute Institute, and the State Hospital for Nervous Diseases.
Messrs. H. G. Jordan and Bea Reedus were forced to abandon their overland journey from Mississippi to Oklahoma due to bad weather. They sold their teams to Dr. J. B. Chastain and will complete the trip by train.
