The original 1829 Arkansas census found and turned to the History Commission notes Pulaski and 13 other counties with five Pulaski townships. J H Cald deputy sheriff compiled the county census for Sheriff S M Rutherford. Total county population 2433 including slaves with breakdowns by age, sex, and status.
