Death of D L Sutton Pioneer Citizen Passes Away
Special to the News Boughton December 19 D L Sutton a pioneer citizen died at his home west of town after a lingering pneumonia. He leaves a large family all but one of whom have preceded him to the beyond. The funeral will be held in the morning at Providence.

Farmers Union urges extra session to suspend taxes
Special session urged to allow farmers to hold the cotton crop. At a mass meeting in the court house, the Farmers' Union debated reducing cotton acreage and passed a resolution asking the governor to convene the legislature in extra session. Tax payment suspension until September next would aid holding cotton.

Procession of colored citizens with officers ends in jail
Yesterday at 4 30 PM on Front Street marshal Marsh led a group of crap shooters to the Mayors office. The accused pleaded not guilty and the trial was postponed to today to secure witnesses. Some bond for appearance was posted while others remained jailed awaiting trial.

No Special Election Planned Until March Primary
Governor Pindall will not call a special election to fill an associate justice seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court before the Democratic primary in March. In a letter to Judge F D Fulkerson he cites party action as unresolved and notes the election would be costly. he would confer with the candidate after nomination if a special election is deemed necessary.

Death of Gus Ringling Head of Ringling Circus Empire
Gus Ringling head of the Ringling Bros Barnum Bailey and Forepaugh Sells shows died in New Orleans at the Sanitorium from a disease complication. His brother Charles Ringling and Henry Ringling arrived from Baraboo Wisconsin to tend him. The casket will be placed on the Ringling private car and sent to Baraboo for a funeral likely Friday.

Postoffice Thief Arrested in Arkansas Stabbing
Sam Arnett marshal of Gordon Arkansas arrested Hilliard Hudson for robbing a Pearla post office. Hudson, a Black man, had earlier eluded officers in Hot Springs county and was located in Gordon where he was raised. The arrest was made quietly.
