Battle over Garland county senate seat heads to court
Little Rock December 16. The Sumpter Greaves contest over the Garland Montgomery senate seat moves from county courts to the state circuit court with mandamus to force Secretary Ludwig to place Greaves on the Senate roll. Judge Sumpter’s name may appear on the list if his election return is honored, while Greaves’ side seeks to bar him from the roll. The case, before Judge E W Winfield, is set for December 28 with further appeals possible to the Supreme Court.

Mr Chas Shriver and Miss Lillian Caldwell were married by Rev T M Keeling of the Baptist church last night at 7 oclock. About fifteen Prescott guests and an equal number from Texarkana Gordon and nearby towns attended. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Caldwell, wore blue sea foam satin and is noted as popular and well regarded. The groom, Iron Mountain train master at Hope, is described as well liked and a good match for the bride. The News offers best wishes to the couple.
