President Wilson welcomed by French in Brest harbor
President Wilson, first serving U S leader to visit Europe in office, was welcomed with cheers as his boat touched Brest pier. French and American guards fired salutes, Mrs Wilson carried a bouquet, and a formal reception followed with Pichon and Leygues present. He then proceeded to Paris for the next day’s drive.
