Missionary society aids blind pupils at Arkansas School for the Blind

Warren case reduces aggravated assault to simple assault

The Arkansas Supreme Court reversed the lower court decision in the John P. Warren case, reducing the charge from aggravated assault to simple assault and setting a $100 fine. Warren had been convicted in Nevada County of aggravated assault on A. H. Tardy, with a $500 fine and one hour in jail, but the court found no weapon or instrument evidence and affirmed only the simple assault conviction with the amended penalty.

Hope Ready for Free Delivery System

Court terms adjust as Judge Carter tours districts

Writ of Replevin Issued Today Over Prize Piano

After a chancery dismissal Judge Shaver ordered the sheriff to seize a $450 piano won in a News contest and deliver it to Mrs. Lizzie McDaniel. The News plans to file a cross bond tomorrow to retain the piano and dispose of it as managers deem best.
