Commissioner Clary urges enforcement of wage law over nine hours

Following Attorney General Davis advice, Commissioner Clary says the minimum wage and maximum hour act allows longer work only in rare cases but warns sheriffs to enforce the nine hour limit for firms employing three or more women in a building. He will file information against offenders brought to his attention.

Capts Sloan to Lead Guard Inspection In Arkansas
Little Rock December 7 The annual inspection of the Arkansas National Guard for the War Department will be held by Capt Sloan U S A between January 1 and March 31. Absence from the company during inspection will cut the government allotment by about 8 33 dollars per man. For 1916 the allotment will be based on attendance rather than enlistment. The Guard must have at least 100 men present for each state's congressional district or a minimum of 900. historically there have been about a thousand. To continue state funding, at least 1400 of the total 1499 enlistment must be present. Efforts will be made to mobilize attendance.

Mrs. Pittman addressed students this morning stressing tobacco and alcohol harms. A football game between the Zen Iths and Garlands will be played on the high school campus next Friday at 3 30 p m. Admission ten cents with gate receipts to benefit debt ridden football boys. The contest promises a tough game as class events usually are.
