San Francisco observers mark the Panama Pacific International Exposition farewell with a record crowd. At 6 pm 298610 visitors were counted, surpassing San Francisco Day attendance, as the 10 main exhibit buildings closed and the fair entered its final hours.
Little Rock dispatch reports Earle W will formally open his campaign for Governor in Forest City on December 18. Forest City won the bid over several towns as Secretary Hodges works on a comprehensive speech. Local merchants plan a gala event with stores closing for the afternoon to ensure a large turnout and wide adver tising to attract country attendees.
Rev. B. F. Blittle Ruck has begun his pastorate at First Christian Church after being called a month earlier. Dee and J. J. O. Smith were involved in the announcement as part of the church leadership.
Rumor says Assistant Secretary Mather will urge the Department to take full government control of the Hot Springs bath house and place it under a corps of government physicians. Current system uses outside doctors, fueling a long standing drumming problem. Superintendent Parks favors government physician supervision.
J N Childers former House chief clerk announces for Representative of Lawrence county. W M Shelby withdraws from race for Independence county representative. Joel C Belote of Hot Springs county begins campaign for Senator Ninth District. R W Buchanan and Wilson Cardwell seek reelection, with W E Williams and A B Lewis also candidates.

Washington announces the marriage of Edith Bolling Galt to President Wilson on December 18 at the Galt home. Only close family attend with no cabinet or diplomatic guests, ceremony at 6 p.m. at 1308 Twentieth Street Northwest. Witnesses include Mrs Bolling, the president's daughters, and several Bolling relatives. Honeymoon plans unsettled with possible sea voyage or rail trip along the Atlantic coast. Car to depart after the ceremony if sea trip is scrubbed.
Little Rock December 6 The United Daughters of the Confederacy in Arkansas launch a statewide drive to entertain Veterans at the Arkansas Home during the holidays with larger dinners fruit and candies The Sons join in with a committee led by W N Brandon D K Hawthrone A J Wilson Hal L Norwood and Senator W C Adamson to back a new Confederate pension act and push it through the legislature while purging the pension rolls of alleged imposters.
County Judge J M Thomas appoints delegates for the Stock Growers Convention in Little Rock on January 11 12 and 18 1916. Appointees include M W Greeson C H Volway W S Rowe Sam E Munn H V Scott W A Huff A Gordon F M Odell Sam White J V Hulse H A Loomis.
Washington December 6 a portable military and naval topographical map for air scouts has been invented by Gunnery Sergeant Herman G Stroschein of the United States Marine Corps. The map uses worm gearing operated by telescopic thumb screws to show elevations, depressions, terrain, valleys and water bodies, aiming to improve speed and accuracy of observation reports by aviators. Stroschein is on duty at the United States Marine Corps headquarters in this city.
Washington outlines Arkansas gains in exclusive committees on Ways and Means Judiciary Agricultural and Rivers and Harbors. Oldfield leads with Ways and Means, Caraway and Taylor gain new seats while Ja coway continues on Agricultural. Delegation celebrates broad gains in a quiet caucus, marking Arkansas as well represented on key panels.
