Bronson Howard Dies at Avon by the Sea Journalist and Playwright
Bronson Howard, famed dramatist and author of landmark American plays, died Tuesday of heart failure at Avon-by-the-Sea New Jersey after a yearlong illness. He began in journalism in 1859 with stints at the Tribune Evening Mail and Evening Post before focusing on drama. His notable works include Saratoga The Banker's Daughter Old Love Letters Young Mrs Winthrop Shenandoah and Aristocracy. He married Miss Windham in 1880, sister to Sir Charles Windham the English comedian.
