One hundred twenty Pottstown Senior High students will tour Montgomery County Court House on Monday May 19. Ninety from William H. McCabe's Problems of Democracy and 30 from J Robert Y Von Drach's Commercial Law will depart at 9 a.m. and reach by 9 30 a.m. They will be greeted by Attorney Horace A. Fire damages converted home in Lower Frederick area
A concrete block garage converted into a home by Donald L. Stone in Perkiomenville RD was gutted by a fire Saturday morning causing about 2000 dollars in damage. Discovered at 11 35 by Stone's father in law, the blaze began in a bedroom and spread through two rooms. About 20 firemen from Lower Frederick and Green Lane battled for an hour using booster hoses and equipment from both companies.

Baby Day Howling Success At Memorial Hospital Event

Self-Defense Pleaded in Brother Stabbing Murder
Jerome Dole 23 a Collegeville seaman on leave from the maritime service died after a stabbing in his brother Joseph Dob 25 West Conshohocken home. The dispute over paying a christening expenses led to a kitchen confrontation. Joseph claimed self-defense after his heavier brother punched him and a knife was drawn. Jerome died at Montgomery Hospital Norristown. Joseph held on homicide charge.

President Truman sent Kenneth H. Drumheller acting Saratoga postmaster’s nomination to the U. S. Senate for permanent appointment. Drumheller’s candidacy follows support from Democratic County Commissioner Raymond K. Mensch and Lower Pottsgrove party leaders. The Civil Service Commission had named Drumheller eligible for the $3700-a-year post, with Mrs. Lester L. Baum as the other eligible candidate. both names were sent forward.

Five hurt in weekend Pottstown area traffic crashes
Five persons were injured in six traffic accidents around the Pottstown area over the weekend. One woman, Mrs Pascale, suffered skull fractures and injuries to her wrist and knee in a two car crash at Red Jane and Route 422. Her husband Edward Pascale and several others were treated for various injuries at St Joseph's Hospital Reading. Police say Frank Rodney of Dunmore drove a car that struck the Pascale vehicle. Rodney and two passengers were also treated for injuries. Another crash involved a 19 year old Pottstown area youth whose 1929 car struck a utility pole on Route 100 south of Titlow’s Corner.
