William M. Strunk of Royersford was freed on charges he defrauded Lewis J. Crusco who invested 34000 in Strunk Steel before its bankruptcy. Judge George C. Corson sustained demurrers, saying no evidence showed Strunk benefited or received Crusco’s money. Campbell, treasurer, faced separate charges. testimony indicated he did not lead the investment. A plan for a $250,000 school to serve Upper Frederick New Hanover and Fagleysville Swamp districts was hindered as a classroom schedule failed to reach architect Marshall Hughes by mail. Board members, Jules Pearlstine, and Reading architect Hughes planned the discussion after Montgomery County Supt. A M Kulp noted the State Department of Public Instruction sent the schedule. The board had considered 12 classrooms as advisable.

Lena Mae Stoltzfus, 6, is the sole survivor of a five member family after a Jan 6 Route 30 wreck near Sadsburyville that killed her father Joseph, mother A Grace, older daughter Vida Jean, and a son Joseph Jr. Lena, uninjured, lived with her grandparents in Morgantown. The 80 acre Stoltzfus farm was later sold for 18,000. Mrs Stoltzfus had been active in Coatesville Mennonite church.
